Decorah High School is hosting an Iowa High School Speech Association certification meeting on October 7th at 7:00 pm in the high school cafeteria. This meeting certifies or re-certifies any adult to judge for IHSSA contests and costs $5.00. No experience is necessary to attend this meeting. Drama coach Molly Holkesvik remarked, “We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who want to help students build their communication skills through speech. This certification meeting provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the IHSSA, the variety of speech contests a person can judge, and the categories in which students can participate.”

Holkesvik continued, “After attending the meeting, people can judge at any IHSSA state contest and make some money while enjoying a day of amazing student performances. This year Decorah is hosting the State Large Group Contest, so they could even start judging right here in Decorah.”
