Who Is a Returning Student?
A student who attended a Decorah School within the last calendar school year.
Returning Student Registration Process:
All parents must use a parent PowerSchool account and log in at the URL indicated below to complete online registration for the 2022-2023 school year. You cannot use the PowerSchool mobile app to complete registration.
STEP 1: Log in to your PowerSchool parent account: https://decorah.powerschool.com
- If you do not remember your credentials, you will need to select forgot username/password to have your credentials emailed to you. If you cannot access the recovery email, you will need to contact the school administrative assistant.
- All parents/guardians will use the PowerSchool parent website to submit registration forms.
STEP 2: Once you are logged in to your PowerSchool parent account, follow the steps below.
- Select the student you wish to review and update.
- Select the Returning Student Registration (Upcoming Year) Icon/Link located in your parent PowerSchool account on the left side menu. (similar to the image below.)
- Agree to the terms and conditions.
- Click Begin Forms to begin verifying and updating information.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete online registration (for each of your students).
- This process involves updating contact and medical information as well as electronically signing your understanding of required forms.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete online registration (for each of your students).
- Once you select SUBMIT, you cannot access the form again.
STEP 3: Pay registration fees.

- Registration fees can be found on your PowerSchool Parent Portal under “Balance” on the left navigation menu.
- Checks & cash can be mailed or hand-delivered to each building.
- If paying by check or cash, please fill out the payment form and mail it back with your payment. (Click here for the payment form)
- Checks should be made payable to Decorah Community Schools.
- It is requested that separate checks be made for each school building.
- Parents may also pay online. There is a 3.49% processing fee. (Click here for online payment options)

- Fees are based on your 21-22 eligibility if you previously filled out a Free/Reduced Lunch/Fee Waiver form. If you feel you will still qualify for the 22-23 school year, you will need to fill out a new application after July 1. Applications for the 22-23 school year will be available for all families after July 1, 2022
