In the Spotlight
This Friday, we say goodbye (but not really) to someone who has been the heartbeat of our front office. Jada Walker, CLE's administrative assistant, is moving on to a new role at Helping Services, and while we are genuinely happy for her, we'd be lying if we said we weren't going to miss her terribly. Jada has brought so much JOY into this building. Her smiles, her friendly hellos, her ever-present peace sign, and her habit of asking "Are you OK?" and really meaning it, have brightened countless days for staff and students alike. She has been warm and loving to every student who walked through her doors, making the front office feel less like an office and more like a welcome mat. Her kindness is her default setting. Even her emails carry just enough sparkle to make you read them twice. That's a gift, and it's one she shares freely. Here's the thing about Jada, though: direct service has always been her life's calling. She's been doing it here, every single day, whether she was answering phones, calming a worried student, or checking in on a colleague having a hard morning. Now she gets to do it in a new way, and we couldn't be happier for her or for the people at Helping Services who are about to discover what we've known all along. Jada, thank you for being YOU. Thank you for the joy, the warmth, the peace signs, and the heart you've poured into this building. You will be greatly missed, but never far from our thoughts.
