In the Spotlight
This month, we celebrate Beth Wahlberg and Sue Sander. Beth is a longtime Media Associate whose impact on our school community has been truly remarkable. Beth has inspired a number of students with her love of reading, always helping them find “just right” books and sharing her expertise in middle school literature. Beyond the library, Beth guided students in using the online media catalog and supported teachers in finding valuable resources through the AEA. Her knowledge and willingness to help made her an invaluable resource for all. What truly set Beth apart was her compassion. She had a special way of connecting with students, often providing a listening ear or a moment of care when it was needed most. As Beth heads into a well-deserved retirement, we thank her for her dedication, kindness, and the lasting impact she has made on our school. Congratulations, Beth! Enjoy your retirement! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are also proud to recognize Sue Sander, a dedicated and familiar face in our school community. As a study hall supervisor for 7th and 8th graders, Sue has been instrumental in keeping students on track, holding them accountable, and offering a helpful nudge to complete assignments. Sue’s support extended beyond study hall, always willing to help students navigate middle school coursework, whether it was math or history. She also played a key role in the school office, helping keep things organized for students, staff, and families. In addition to her daily work, Sue has given thousands of hours to Decorah Community Schools, working events, taking tickets, and volunteering at athletic activities. Her reliability and willingness to help whenever needed have been invaluable. Thank you, Sue, for your years of service and dedication to our students and school community! Enjoy your retirement!
