Paraeducators at Decorah Schools work under the supervision of a consulting teacher, building principal, and Facilitator of Special Needs to provide additional direction and support to students. Often, paraeducators work to assist in special education classrooms, work directly with students with an Individual Education Program (IEP), or assist in early childhood classrooms. Paraeducators provide support within the classroom, assist teachers with classroom tasks, supervise students, and occasionally perform administrative tasks. Paraeducators play an integral role in helping students to learn and grow.
